A tool for dancers to share their profile with program organisations and directors
Profile Planet is a tool for dancers to share videos, photos, and documents with program organisations and their directors. Directors can view profiles to keep materials organised in one place, and make placement/hiring more skillful.
There are 3 main entities. Dancer, teachers and Directors. They share their profile within their circles and set up auditions for the dancers to hire.
Challenges
An easy-to-use tool for user Adoption
The audience of the website is not tech-savvy. Artists need a platform that allows them to easily set their profile, where they can enter their details, images, videos, and many other important documents with fewer efforts. Profile Planet was aimed to be simple to be adopted by a larger number of users.
Building a Subscription Business Model
The application is very straightforward which collects the information of dancers, and makes it more presentable so that it gets easy for directors to make decisions quickly.
The challenge here was to set up an architecture for the assets and features provided to dancers with subscriptions and without subscriptions. Dancers who subscribe get many features and make his/her profile fully accessible to the directors, while without a subscription, a profile will get restricted with blurred and labeled assets.
Designed a new development method to help our non-tech client previsualize his vision
Solutions
Created a new development method for our non-techie client
Our client wasn’t tech savvy. So we minimized assumptions and created a new development method to help him visualize product and its features during the development cycle. We set up 2 environments – Development and production environments. At every phase, client was provided a demonstration of his project progress and features first, and once he confirmed, we moved it to production.
Subscription-based Revenue Model
We build subscription-based revenue model which allows subscribed users get all the assets and features enabling a profile fully accessible to the viewers, and present his/herself better than other performers.
Users who do not subscribe, they still can have access to most of the features. But with help of image processing and coupon access, images get blurred for non-subscribed users and attract them to subscribe for more features.
Making the product really cost effective
Despite the new methodology, we managed development, deployment, asset management, and 100% support within the defined timeline making the product cost-effective.
The site has been deployed on the heroku which is cost effective as well as highly scalable. We can easily upgrade the infrastructure to a large scale to manage high traffic.

The dance industry is highly competitive, and dancers must constantly work to improve their skills and stand out from other dancers. We improved the dancer’s profiles in such a way that dancers can manage their profiles very quick and easy and highlight their strengths to stand out from other dancers.

Awards, Honors, and Training
We divide dancer profiles to make them specific about their dance experience and training. Dancers can mention the styles of dance they are proficient in and any awards or honors they have received.

Upload and Share Video
Dancers can upload their videos on their profile. Including a video help dancers showcase their skills and give potential employers a better idea to make decision.

Feedback and Suggestions
Dancers can share their profiles and ask for feedback from other dancers or instructors to improve their profiles.

Coupon access
For the limited time and limited users, we have provided coupon access which helps the user to access the site for free and more features to be accessed.
