Our client sells high quality bikes, fitness equipment, clothes, etc. online from Germany. Our client wanted us to migrate their Magento 1 to Magento 2 store. In this project, we wanted to assist our client with moving to a newer, more robust platform version with all its advantages, and also preserve all the important business data like customers, products, etc.

During development, the team encountered problems with the Data Migration Tool and found it to have a number of shortcomings. As a result, this tool was changed to meet our needs. The team also had to resolve an issue with the EAV attributes transportation, which mapped in an unnatural way in Magento, so a custom script was created. Our database and migration tool amendments resolved a great deal of data transfer issues.
As both Magento 1 and Magento 2 are open source, it is up to us as software engineers to be sure to follow industry standards. Additionally, we found a number of security vulnerabilities. We majorly focused on Service Booking extension development, Shipping Method customization, Speed Optimization without interrupting previous performance.
